How To Install Calibre on Ubuntu 16.04

Please Donate Here!

Calibre is a free and open source e-book library management application developed by users of e-books for users of e-books in Ubuntu. We can organize our ebook collections in one place. We can manage our Kindle device with it. We can convert an ebook format into another. Even we can edit our ebooks. Now, I will show you how to install Calibre in Ubuntu 16.04.
1**By GUI, you can install Calibre via Ubuntu Software Center. Search for calibre and install.

2**By Terminal, you can use this command. You must activate your internet connection.
sudo apt-get install calibre
 3** By Visiting Calibre website using the Binary install described here.
The latest release of calibre is 2.53.0. What's new.
Please do not use your distribution provided calibre package, as those are often buggy/outdated. Instead use the Binary install described below.

Binary install

calibre has a binary install that includes private versions of all its dependencies. It runs on 32-bit and 64-bit Intel compatible machines. To install or upgrade, simply copy paste the following command into a terminal and press Enter:

sudo -v && wget -nv -O- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/master/setup/linux-installer.py | sudo python -c "import sys; main=lambda:sys.stderr.write('Download failed\n'); exec(sys.stdin.read()); main()"

While you wait for the download to complete, please consider contributing to support the development of calibre.
